16 August - Third signing of the Transfer window

Three is the magic number!

Our third signing of the summer also takes the number 3 shirt.

Welcome to Liverpool FC Women, Gemma Evans.

The 28-year-old joins the club from Manchester United and is already very familiar with the boss, having worked alongside Beardy during her previous spell at Reading.

Evans is a vastly experienced centre-back who can also play left back and has made more than 100 Women’s Super League appearances and gathered almost 70 senior international appearances for Wales.

Hear what our latest signing had to say on joining The Reds –
“It’s a massive move for me. Last season was a difficult year for me as I had to learn to be a teammate in a different way on the field, so it’s so exciting to be at Liverpool and working with Matt again, and I’m proper looking forward to getting ready to go. They are a really nice bunch I’ve met so far and we are really looking forward to try and build on last year and hopefully I can help as much as possible. I want more game time and I want to prove the ability I think I have. I haven’t been able to showcase that the last season so I want to meet my standards again and hit the floor running.”

Beardy spoke of his pleasure at renewing his association with the defender, saying:
“I’m delighted to bring Gemma in, she is a talented player, has got great experience playing in the WSL and international football with Wales, so with her personality as well coming in I think it’s a great fit for us.

Gemma is versatile and can also play left-back. Last season we lost Taylor (Hinds) for a few months and Jas (Matthews) also had a difficult end to the season with injuries and we looked at it and felt it was something we needed to address.”

15 August - Second signing of the Transfer window

Alexa, play Cornelia Street by Taylor Swift!

Liverpool FC Women have announced their second signing of the season, Cornelia Kapocs

Corenlia is a forward who joins The Reds on a permanent deal from Linkoping FC of Sweden.

The 24-year-old joins following an impressive season with her former club, where she scored 18 goals and gained Women’s Champions League experience.

Hear what our new number 7 had to say:

“I’m very happy and very proud to be here, I like the way the team plays and I also feel that I can grow and develop here as a player and as a person, so this is the right place to take the next step in my career.
I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and I can’t wait to get started and play in front of them.
What the team did last season was amazing and I’m very happy to join this journey.”

Beardy was clearly delighted to have added Cornelia to the squad and said:

“I’m really excited to bring Cornelia in. She is very different to what we’ve got up front – she can play wide and can play down the middle.
Her goalscoring record is fantastic, she got 18 goals last season, her movement is great and she’s a very intelligent player. So I think the fans can be excited at what she can bring to the table and we are excited to have her here.
We need to progress the team, create that competition. And to have all these players now who can play in the frontline, it’s a headache for me but it’s also fantastic for me.”

We sure can’t wait to see what Corenlia has to offer!

We know this is going to be sad news for so many of us Reds out there but please join us in wishing the upmost of luck to the scouser in our team, Missy Bo Kearns as she departs The Reds to join Aston Villa.

Missy has been with Liverpool since she was 8 years old and has always been a firm fan favourite, both for her silky football skills and that dazzling personality.

Her legend status was forever solidified when she became the first LFC women’s team player to have a mural dedicated to her near Anfield.

Never has once a Red, always a Red been more apt than it is right now.
