At our End of Season Awards Night held at Hotel Anfield in May 2023, we were delighted to present the following initial five Hall of Fame Inductees with their awards:
Liz Deighan
Liz founded Newton Ladies in 1989. The Club was renamed Knowsley United in 1991 and affiliated to the first National League, finishing 4th in the Premiership in their inaugural season. Liz was also an England international who played at the 1984 European Championships reaching the Final. Quite simply without Liz there would not be LFCW as we know it today!
Angie Gallimore
Angie was Knowsley United Manager during the period they were formally renamed as Liverpool Ladies. In 1994 Angie led the team to runners-up in the Women’s FA Cup Final. Angie also appeared alongside Liz playing for England at the 1984 European Championships.
Matt Beard
Matt is the most successful LFCW Manager of the WSL era, having won back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, and winning the FA Women’s Championship in 2022 securing Promotion back to the WSL.
Natasha Dowie
Tash is a two time WSL winner with LFCW, as well as a WSL Golden Boot winner. Tash was the first LFCW player to score 20 WSL goals and remains our record goal scorer in the WSL. Tash enjoyed a second successful spell at the Club in 2022/23 before announcing her retirement from Football in the Summer of 2023.
Gemma Bonner
Gemma is currently also in her second spell at the Club. In her first spell she Captained the Club to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014. She also holds the record for the most appearances for LFCW.
