Code of Conduct

All members, Officers and associates of Liverpool Women Supporters Club shall be committed to:

  • supporting, promoting, and furthering the aims and objectives of Liverpool Women Supporters Club.
  • rejecting violence, abusive behaviour, or discrimination in any form.
  • making Liverpool Women Supporters Club an inclusive and welcoming group that represents Liverpool FC Women fans from all backgrounds.
  • recognising that decisions made by Liverpool Women Supporters Club are reached democratically by way of ballot, and respecting the outcome of each ballot.
  • following the equality, inclusion and anti-discrimination guidelines as set out above.

All members, Officers and associates of Liverpool Women Supporters Club shall be prohibited from:

  • making communications in the name of Liverpool Women Supporters Club without express permission.
  • profiting from activity associated with Liverpool Women Supporters Club without express permission.
  • complicating or sabotaging the objects, activities or communications of Liverpool Women Supporters Club.
  • bringing Liverpool Women Supporters Club into disrepute by any other means.

Equality, Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Policy

All members, Officers and associates of Liverpool Women Supporters Club shall be committed to:

  • ensuring a safe environment for all members and non-members by applying equality, diversity and inclusion in our day-to-day operations.
  • promoting awareness of the benefits of equality, inclusion and diversity with a clear understanding that football belongs to everyone.
  • not discriminate or treat anyone less favourably on the grounds of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status, race or nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion/belief or disability. We will not tolerate harassment, bullying, abuse or victimisation of any kind and will assure the appropriate reporting procedures are actioned if any of the mentioned does occur under our supervision. We are committed to taking action against discrimination.
  • ensuring good practice is encouraged internally, with our football club(s), partners and the wider community.
  • the eradication of discrimination in football and the promotion of equality, inclusion and diversity, by being fully supportive of the work of organisations such as Kick It Out and The Football Supporters’ Association.
  • standing together as one so that everyone can feel welcome and enjoy the beautiful game.

Social Media Usage Policy

All members, Officers and associates of Liverpool Women Supporters Club shall agree to:

  • not divulge information which is confidential to Liverpool Women Supporters Club, its members or suppliers.
  • ensuring that they do not conduct themselves in a way that is detrimental to Liverpool Women Supporters Club.
  • not use offensive or derogatory language towards;
    • any player or person associated with the Club
    • any member of Liverpool Women Supporters Club
    • any person online commenting on the Club or Liverpool Women Supporters Club
    • any member of the wider football community, including match officials, other clubs, leagues, associations, etc
    • any player, official or representative of the above
  • not use social media at any time in a way that could damage the reputation of Liverpool Women Supporters Club and/or its partners – Committee Members must behave in a way which ensures there is no negative impact on Liverpool Women Supporters Club, its members or the people and organisations that Liverpool Women Supporters Club works with and for. Liverpool Women Supporters Club does have a public profile, and as such can be subject to scrutiny by the media and public.
  • respect the privacy, reputation and feelings of others at all times. Committee Members should obtain the permission of other Committee Members before posting contact details or photos. It is in everyone’s interests that Committee Members do not make any comment, share images or information that may cause embarrassment to Liverpool Women Supporters Club.
  • not disclose any sensitive information from the Supporters Club. In the course of working on behalf of Liverpool Women Supporters Club, Committee Members could have access to information relating to the finances, budgets, transfer or recruitment activity of the Club. Information of this nature MUST be treated sensitively and confidentially. It is expressly prohibited for Committee Members to comment on such matters publicly.
  • not use personal social media accounts for Liverpool Women Supporters Club business.
  • If personal social media accounts are likely to be used to comment on official Liverpool Women Supporters Club activity, biographies should state that “the views expressed are personal and not those of Liverpool Women Supporters Club”.
  • The official Liverpool Women Supporters Club accounts should block anyone sending abusive messages, anyone discriminating or engaging in intentional provocation.
  • It is the responsibility of anyone publishing content on Liverpool Women Supporters Club’s behalf to ensure they take additional precautions if they themselves use personal accounts i.e. keep Liverpool Women Supporters Club’s accounts separate and ensure they are aware of which account they are using before posting any material.

This document is drafted in accordance with the existing Rules adopted pursuant to a resolution of the Society at an Annual General Meeting held on 25th March 2021 and the Best Practice guidance issued by the FSA. It serves to protect the best interests and reputation of Liverpool Women Supporters Club, and sets out the standards of behaviour that individual members and Officers of Liverpool Women Supporters Club are expected to adhere to as a condition of their membership.

Failure to observe its stipulations by any member or Officer shall be regarded as a breach of this code and may result in disciplinary action up to and including removal from their position in accordance with the provisions set out in points 3.8 and 3.9 of Liverpool Women Supporters Club’s Constitution.
